Tiger is Back

Tiger is back this week, hosting his own elevated event at the famed southern California course, The Riviera Country Club. El Tigre is also back in more than one way, launching his own clothing line, Sun Day Red. The clothing line will be available on May 1st, and released under mixed reaction based on the early reviews and comments online. The more exciting news, Tiger is back walking on a challenging golf course.

Max Homa and Adam Scott are the only two recent past champions with a chance to win again. It is impossible to talk about Riviera without mentioning the last 60% of winners all play on Liv tour now. DJ, Niemann, Rahm, and Bubba make up 6 out of the past ten winners at Riv. Two other past champs, Hahn and Holmes, barely play pro golf anymore. It is also tough not to notice because Liv, a golfer like Russell Henley, is in the top 25 to win based on current Las Vegas odds.

The Genesis sets up to be a competitive event and, in my view, a close race to the finish. There are plenty of sticks in the field who have done well historically but have never won this event. Names like Cantlay, Xander, Willy Zalatoris, Tony Finau, Morikowa have all come close in the last 10yrs. Couple that crowd with Adam Scott and Justin Thomas coming in hot off the WM “drunkfest” Open, plus Max Homa’s success at Riv. We have a big time leaderboard potential for the first time all season. Let’s see who has that dog in them this week!
